The vertical panels are here to break up the monotony of widescreen panels from the previous pages.
I have to admit that I wish the first panel was drawn a little better. The demobeast's head looks like a canoe or something and the Exosuit is humping it. Actually, its doing a spinning piledriver, borrowed from Street Fighter:

It's been a while since Clarisa in the Exosuit spoke to her contact. Storywise, this mysterious person would've been on the edge of her toes waiting to hear what happened.
The unofficial theme of our 24 hour comic group was the word "awesome." I didn't know it when I was doing this page, but when I heard about it, I proudly showed how awesome I was by having done it already.
By this time I've decided that Clarisa is actually communicating with Keeley. When I started this comic, I envisioned that Clarisa was being given orders by some colonel or something, like Snake was in Metal Gear Solid.
After I drew the section with 2009 Keeley, I entertained the idea that she's been working with Clarisa this whole time against the robots. I think this makes a nice link that carries across the whole comic, ilke it was all planned from the start, though it wasn't.
That's why from this panel on, the voice on the other side is a lot more friendly and less professional sounding.
